Inspired and mentored by leaders across several industries, Derrin is driven to share his personal development programs to cultivate learning environments that are inclusive of everyone’s perspectives. While being trained to lead thoughtful conversations, his gift of validating the message his clients are trying to convey helps individuals and organizations engage in meaningful discussions that are fair and equitable and help everyone find significant points of connection.
His professional background began as a collegiate athlete playing football at Azusa Pacific University. That experience granted him opportunities to work as an Academic Advisor for student-athletes and serve as an adjunct professor teaching sports Psychology at his Alma Mater. He transitioned to a Career Counselor role at UC Riverside, where he spent four years serving on leadership boards and developing programs around student success. He currently holds a position as a Workforce Development Coach and Trainer for the Academy of Professional Excellence at San Diego State University where he has been for over three years.
Derrin earned a BA in Interpersonal Communication from Azusa Pacific and his Masters in Educational Psychology from Northern Arizona University.
